Understanding the LING Touch
An Esthetician's Touch Is Their Most Important Asset.
The second your hands touch your client’s face, they should be feeling an expert’s touch. Confidence is key in this step as your clients can instantly feel that you know what you are doing from your touch– building trust from your clientele. Your touch should be soothing and relaxed, with each move filled with purpose.
Not only is touch pertinent to the massage portion of your facial, but it should be consistent for the entirety of the appointment.
From examining your clients’ skin– to applying a product with a brush onto their face, each step of the facial process should be done with a gentle and purposeful touch.
The worst that can happen is if the client feels as if you are handling their skin too rough or if you get product into their eyes and nose, these negative incidents can dictate their experience with you almost immediately.
Always ask your clients how your touch feels at the beginning of their service.
Remember – not everyone has the same preference, and what one individual likes might not be what another individual would prefer. As an esthetician, we want to make the clients’ experience the best it can be, and this involves understanding your clients’ comfort level and adjusting your touch accordingly.
